Peter J. Ostrowski
Mr. Ostrowski founded Ostrowski & Company, Inc. in January 1994.
Prior to forming O&Co, he served for thirteen years as Managing
Director of Lyons, Zomback & Ostrowski, Inc., a firm he co-founded
in 1980. Lyons, Zomback & Ostrowski, Inc., was acquired by The Advest
Group, Inc., a regional brokerage firm, in 1988. Previously, he served
in various capacities in both the Bank Supervision and the Loan and
Credit Departments at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Following
his role as Section Head of the Bank & Thrift Monitoring Group at
the Boston Fed, he was a Vice President of Cates, Lyons & Co., consulting
bank analysts.
Since leaving the Fed in 1979, Mr. Ostrowski has been actively involved
in providing advice to banks, bank holding companies, and thrift institutions
regarding capital and strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions,
branch transactions, and regulatory matters. He has successfully advised
institutions on non-underwritten capital raising efforts, including
subscription offerings and private placements. He has been involved
in executing long-term acquisition-driven expansion strategies. Mr.
Ostrowski's hands-on experience in bank and thrift mergers and acquisitions
spans over 17 years during which time he has counseled boards of directors
and executive management and negotiated on behalf of both buyers and
sellers.
Mr. Ostrowski received his B.S. degree, with honors, in economics from
Northeastern University, and was elected to Omicron Delta Epsilon, the
national honor society for students of economics. He is currently a
member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and
the New York Society of Security Analysts. Mr. Ostrowski has lectured
at various forums, including seminars sponsored by the FDIC, and meetings
of state and national bank and thrift trade associations. Mr. Ostrowski
has been an instructor at the FDIC's Examiner Training School and the
Consumer Bankers Association's Graduate School of Retail Bank Management,
where he teaches a course on mergers and acquisitions entitled "Negotiations
Strategies".
Susan J. Monti
Ms. Monti brings nearly twenty years of banking experience to O&Co,
having held executive positions in the areas of financial management,
accounting, planning, operations, administration and credit. Her most
recent position was as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer for Gateway Financial Corporation. At Gateway, she was responsible
for the design and implementation of a financial restructuring that
combined re-capitalization of the Company through a $28 million common
stock rights offering with the resolution of $60 million in non-performing
assets. After successful implementation of the restructuring, Ms. Monti
negotiated the sale of the Company to Shawmut National Corporation.
In addition to extensive balance sheet restructuring experience, Ms.
Monti has managed the acquisition and assimilation of a failed thrift,
developed, implemented, and measured performance of business plans for
banks and thrifts of varying size and complexity; organized a credit
administration and workout division and participated in data processing
system selection, conversion, and outsourcing.
She has completed numerous speaking engagements and has participated
in panels and seminars on asset/liability management, performance reporting,
systems evaluations and management accounting. Ms. Monti has instructed
college level courses in accounting and cost control.
Ms. Monti holds a B.S. in Accounting from Quinnipiac College, Hamden
Connecticut and an M.B.A. from the University of New Haven, also in
Connecticut. She has achieved the professional designation of Certified
Management Accountant (CMA).
